Sanchez came five minutes late to the meeting, and Clay smirked to himself, knowing the dark-haired reason for his tardiness.

“Good morning, everyone. Let’s get started.” Sanchez took his position at the front of the room. “Two days ago, we received a call from a woman who lives in Banner, a small town near the eastern border of Colorado. She wanted to inform the FBI about some suspicious activity going on in a house down the road from her home. She lives about ten miles from town.”

Agent Cameron sat back against the edge of the table. “What type of suspicious activity?”

“Cars coming and going at all hours of the night, seven days a week.” Sanchez set his laptop on the table and opened it.

Clay narrowed his eyes. “Why did she call the FBI?”

“Good question.” Sanchez addressed the room with his answer. “Apparently, the woman has called the local Sheriff multiple times. The Sheriff sent a deputy out to the house one time, but he reported that nothing unusual was going on. He says the cars were family members coming and going and that they had every right to do so. But, Mrs. Coch is certain something illegal is going on. She reports that the vehicles are different every night.”

“So, she doesn’t believe the sheriff?” Cameron asked.

“Exactly. After speaking with Mrs. Coch, I agree it’s possible there’s something going on. What she describes is most likely drug related and could also be a brothel of sorts. Last night, two agents surveilled the home. They observed the exact behavior that Mrs. Coch reported. We got the appropriate warrants, and tonight I’ve ordered an FBI raid. If we find what I think we will, then we’ll have to determine if the Sheriff’s Department is in on it, or not.” Sanchez scanned the people in the meeting until his gaze landed on Clay. “Jennings, I’d like some K9 units involved in the raid.”

“I’m on it.”

“Good.” Sanchez turned to Cameron. “We’ll need a SWAT team with us, just in case.”

“Yes, sir.” Cameron punched numbers on his phone and left the room.

“That’s it for today. There’s nothing new on the murder investigations to report at this time. We’ve got a solid profile, but no suspects. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until someone on the street reports a man fitting the un-sub’s description or until he makes another move. We’ll gather here again tomorrow, after the raid. Let’s get out there. Be safe.”
